Atlanta.... we have arrived.
The NBA Christmas Day schedule has been released and the Hawks are scheduled to head up to Madison Square Garden to face the Knicks. Before I rave about my excitement, let's take a quick pause and look at the last time these two teams played.
To be fair that was only through three games for Julius Randle, but he still was a walking trash can the entire series and ended up shooting 38 percent.
For any Hawks fan out there this should really get you just as excited as this past playoff run did because this team is starting to get some heavy exposure. Last year the Hawks had three nationally televised games, two on ESPN and one on TNT. I refuse to include NBATV in here because literally anyone would just watch their local broadcast over that. Shoutout Bob and Nique.
If the Hawks are already scheduled to be playing on Christmas Day then I would imagine they are going to be heavily featured throughout the upcoming season. While this isn't much of surprise considering the Hawks are probably one of the most entertaining teams to watch with the bulk of young talent on the roster, it's still exciting as hell to be a featured team in this league.
The last time the Hawks played on Christmas Day was in 1989 against none other than the New York Knicks themselves. The Hawks took a loss in that one but i’ll take the early bet now that we get the W in 2021.
