Aidan Hutchinson talks about potentially playing for the Detroit Lions

Everyone can agree that this season has been hard to watch for Lions fans, but every year the worst team in the NFL and their fan base have one thing to look forward to... Having the first overall pick in the draft, and although the Lions haven't secured the #1 pick just yet, they look to be well on their way to it with a tough schedule remaining.

___

It's to early to say for a fact that there is only two candidates for the Lions if infact they get the #1 pick, But right now there is only two names that pop up in Lions mock drafts, two star pass rushers, one being Oregon defensive end, Kayvon Thibodeaux and the other being Michigan defensive end, Aiden Hutchinson. In a recent interview with ESPN's Adam Schefter, Heisman trophy runner up Aiden Hutchinson stated that "It'd be great" when asked about potentially playing for the Detroit Lions, he went on to also say, "I'd be the hometown hero times two". Hutchinson decided to forgo the NFL last season, after his 2020 slate was cut short. Aiden Hutchinson has done everything he vowed to do in his senior season in Ann Arbor, beating Ohio State to win the Big Ten East division, beating Iowa in the Big Ten conference championship game, and clinching a spot in the CFB playoffs, and on New Years Eve they will play the Georgia Bulldogs for a chance to play either Alabama or Cincinnati in the National Championship game. Aiden Hutchinson has been a major piece to Michigan's puzzle, and you could say he is more than 50% of the reason Michigan has done what they have been able to do in 2021, because as talented and important as he is on the field, Hutchinson is equally important for the culture of the Wolverines off of it...

Aiden Hutchinson on Lions' head coach Dan Campbell

Adam Schefter asked Aiden Hutchinson about the Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell. Hutchinson: "I think Dan Campbell, he seems like a really good guy to me” Hutchinson told Schefter. “I know you can’t really judge a coach by what he does in the media, but just seeing what he does and how he treats his players. You know, they won that game last week and how his players were, they were all happy for him–I think that they’ve got a lot of heart on that team, And a couple more pieces to the puzzle, I think they can be a really good ball team" said Hutchinson

How Aiden Hutchinson helps in more ways than just talent

The Wolverines was predicted by experts to be a team that would struggle to even get a bowl game. That certainly wasn't the feel in the clubhouse and it started with Michigan HC' Jim Harbaugh and DE Aiden Hutchinson. After a 2020 season that ended in pain and tears, Hutchinson had this to say after announcing he was coming back for another go at it with Michigan. Hutchinson: "Nobody wants it more than me, I'm ready to go, I'm willing to die for this, let's go!". When Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was asked before the season his biggest goal, he replied "Beat Ohio (State)" Aiden Hutchinson said the drive for him to come back was fueled by the fact he didn't beat Ohio State in his time with the team, he came back to get that win, and in "The Game" it wasn't just the win over OSU on the line, but the Big Ten East trophy. Sure enough, Hutchinson's career day was against arch rival Ohio State in which he had 3 Sacks and 14 QB pressures In Michigan's 42-27 win... When I think about a successful football team I think about culture, Aidan Hutchinson provided a big hand in that for the Michigan Wolverines. It's something the Lions are trying to get back after Matt Patricia came in and destroyed the organization's culture. It's took awhile, but Dan Campbell might just be the man to replace Jim Caldwell, who was successful in his tenior with the Lions. Despite being 1-11-1 Dan Campbell has built something almost remarkable in the clubhouse, because most players wouldn't be able to keep fighting after this season, but continue to show they're support in Campbell and it's a true sign of a great culture. Aidan Hutchinson could come in and be Detroit's best player on defense, while instantly improving the culture for the Lions. He is a great fit in Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn's scheme as they are very animated and always ready to go, Aidan Hutchinson fits perfectly on this roster and it could be an astronomical move for the Lions success moving forward...
