On Monday Kirby Smart told the media that tight end Darnell Washington and cornerback Tykee Smith are both "full go" for this weekend's top ten matchup against Arkansas in Athens.
This is exciting news for all Georgia fans. The team has already looked like the best team in the country from top to bottom. Here are a few reasons why:
- Quarterback play has been excellent, JT Daniels is rocking a stat line of 567 yards, five touchdowns, and a QBR of 87.6. That's with a total of about 2 1/4 games played as well. He will most likely be playing all four quarters against Arkansas.
- Running back by committee has worked to perfection. Zamir White, James Cook, and Kendall Milton each have over 100 yards on the season so far. Each one of them is averaging over five yards a carry as well.
- Brock Bowers is what they told us Isaac Nauta would be. He has been the primary target for Daniels all season and has even had some success in the running game. Georgia's offense will always be better with an elite tight end. I think we finally have one in Athens.
Oh yeah.... Darnell is an elite tight end too......
- THIS DEFENSE IS GETTING TO THE QUARTERBACK. For real though, there are nine different players with a sack already for the Bulldogs. I've said before this is probably the fastest and most athletic defense we've seen on a college team in a long time.
There's already a ton of success so far for the Bulldogs this season. The main reason why is we have shown depth at every position. Now we get ready to add even more with two of our top players making their return in a top ten SEC matchup.
Don't be surprised when Georgia looks even better this week.
