It's been an exciting day for Lions fans after last night's picks. It'll remain an exciting day as tonight kicks off Day 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft. Lions GM Brad Holmes was able to land the #1 ranked prospect on most experts big boards, Aidan Hutchinson, the Heisman trophy runner up from the University of Michigan. He then showed that he isn't scared to make huge moves as he traded up 20 spots to draft Alabama speedy Wide Receiver, Jameson Williams (My 2nd ranked WR). Holmes traded the final RD 1 pick (32) and the second 2nd round pick (34) including an early 3rd round pick to ensure he got Williams. Now you're all caught up, it's time to dive into these two new Lions...

Aidan Hutchinson, #2 overall pick:

up going 12-1 with a win over rival Ohio State, locking into a playoff berth, Michigan fell short of a National Championship Berth in a loss to the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs. Most of that success arguably doesn't happen without Aidan Hutchinson leading the way both on & off the field. You could say it wasn't Jim Harbaugh that cemented that culture, it was Aidan Hutchinson. He was just important off the field as he was on it. That says a lot when you look at his numbers, 14 sacks, 2 FF's, 36 solo's, 26 assists he was a leader for a really good Michigan defense, he likely won't have his fellow EDGE Rush teammate David Ojabo but no worries, he'll have a good list of Pass Rushers to chase QB's with, including Romeo & Julian Okwara, Charles Harris, Levi Onwuzerike and Michael Brockers. He's gonna fit very well in Aaron Glenn's scheme and his energy will fit very well in Dan Campbell's culture...

Jameson Williams, #12 (Via Trade)

Jameson Williams is one of them Nick Saban Alabama products. He started his career out as an Ohio State recruit, he played 2 season with the Buckeyes before seeing an opportunity at Alabama, he was a breakout star in 2021 for the Role Tide. He didn't have a great opportunity though show his talent at OSU, in two season he only had 15 receptions for 266 yards & 3 TD's. Last season with Bama he had 79 reception's for 1,572 yards, and 19 TD's. One play that sticks out is a 94 yard touchdown from last season. Williams joins D.J Chark, Amon-Ra. St. Brown, Josh Reynolds, Kalif Raymond and Quintez Cephus in the Lions WR room...
