Lions need to make it Julian Okwara's time to shine

It may be time for the Okwara Brothers, to help aid this Lions defense...

Julian Okwara, younger brother of Romeo Okwara, was drafted in the 4th round of the 2020 draft by the Detroit Lions. The same team his brother plays for. Detroit has been patient with Julian Okwara, similar to how they developed Romeo into a top pass rusher. Julian however suffered a broken leg in his senior year at Notre Dame which has probably also played a factor in Julian recieving limited snaps. Julian has showed an incredible amount of promise. But, now should be his time. With Jamie Collins Sr, likely being traded soon and OLB, Trey Flowers being a no show at practice. Detroit has youth to turn back on, with Derrick Barnes also being ready to go...

Older Brother Romeo, went un-drafted to many's surprised and since joining the Lions after spending time with the New York Giants, Okwara hasn't played like an un-drafted player would. He hit double digits in sacks last season and the Lions resinged Romeo to a 3-year, 39 Million Dollar Deal to stay in Detroit this off-season. Okwara said that signing that deal was easy because it meant playing with his brother. Julian hasn't had much gametime this season and last, but that should be changing soon...

Julian, despite being the youngest was looked at by more scouts, coaches, GM's in his draft. He easily could've easily been a Round 1 talent, but his broken femur had GM's questioning if he could stay healthy throughout his career. That allowed him to fall into the Lions lap later in the draft. While playing for the fighting Irish he had 14.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 interceptions....
