Should Lions trade OL Taylor Decker

Rumors have circled around Lions OL Taylor Decker possibly being added to the trade block. But, is it the right decision to trade him?...

The only right answer is... YES!. Currently the Lions future looks questionable. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Offensive Line has been preforming to perfection and they have done it without Decker, who has been on injured reserve (Finger). A reason to believe that the Lions ship is being steered in the right direction is the fact that they hold four 1st round picks in the next two years, Giving them the perfect opportunity to rebuild their defense and WR core. But, you cannot have to many early draft picks. Decker is certainly worth a 1st rounder and maybe even more if traded to the right team. That would give the Lions five 1st round picks in 2 years, including 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounders that you can also find star athletes in. Reviewing the Lions roster, it's going to take a lot to completely clean up the mess Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn left behind before being relieved of their duty's exactly 300 days ago. Detroit undoubtedly has the worst defense in the NFL. They could easily fix this issue with more flexibility in the 2022/2023 NFL draft...

Taylor Decker is only 28 years old and still in his prime. Meaning this off-season couldn't be any better of a time to sell Decker and get a lot back. Lions desperately need depth and talent in their secondary next off-season, Safety Kyle Hamilton, Notre Dame. Corner Back Derek Stingley, LSU. Probably would be high on Detroit's radar. Trading Decker doubles their chances to draft one of those players. If your Detroit, your not losing to much if Decker moves on. And you'll gain a ton back. This move can easily make the Lions playoff contenders by 2023...

This off-season the Lions traded for young and successful Quarterback Jared Goff, in exchange for 2009 1st overall pick Matthew Stafford, two 1st rounders in 2022, 2023 and a 3rd round pick in this past NFL draft in April. They selected OT Penei Sewell to strengthen their OL even more. They also brought in WR, Tyrell Williams to aid their WR room. With Sewell, Jackson, Ragnow, Vaitai, Stenberg in that OL they should be just fine without Decker...
