Bucs (-7) @ Eagles
O/U 52.5
It's that time again.
Thursday night is approaching and we've got a matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles. It's Brady vs Hurts in a game that should be a blowout..... hopefully.
Tampa Bay rolls in with a 4-1 record and Tom Brady is making his case to be the MVP of the league at 44-years-old. He leads the league in passing yards and is second in the league in touchdowns. Nothing new for the GOAT.
Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown have been elite this year sharing the ball. Each one of them ranks in the top 25 in receiving yards this year. Leonard Fournette has been no slouch either rumbling and tumbling to 4.5 yards a carry on the ground.
On the other side of the ball, there is room for concern. The Bucs rank dead last in the league in passing yards allowed at this point of the season. The good news is they rank first in rushing yards allowed.
Tampa comes into this game a little banged up as well. Rob Gronkowski, Lavonte David, and Antonie Whitfield Jr. have all been ruled out for this game.
Philly is coming into this game with a 2-3 record but also had an incredible come-from-behind win in Carolina this past Sunday to catch some momentum.
Jalen Hurts has had a solid season so far leading the Eagles. He ranks 12th in the league in passing yards in just his second year. He leads the team in rushing yards as well so he is truly the do-it-all guy for the Eagles this season.
Hurts favorite target this year has been former college teammate Devonta Smith who is second among rookies in receiving yards. Miles Sanders has been really quiet out of the backfield getting only 18 carries the past three weeks.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles actually rank ninth in total defense. They are the third-best team against the pass but rank third-to-worst when it comes to stopping the run.
Philly has been banged up all year in the trenches and that continues with Lane Johnson and Dallas Goedert both ruled out for Thursday's matchup.
PICKS
This does seem too easy, but I think that's because it is. I'm rolling with the Bucs because there is just too much firepower on this team. I expect Brady to easily go over 300 yards passing and Leonard Fournette to reach 100 yards on the ground.
I would like to say that I'm a huge supporter of Jalen Hurts and think he will be good, but not against this defense that will stop him from running around to make plays on his feet.
Bucs -7
Under 52
Leonard Fournette O64.5 rushing yards
