Baltimore is already considered one of the best run game offenses in the NFL. But, a streak of season ending injuries have lead to the Ravens searching for depth in the running back room....
The Ravens are looking to make a deeper playoff run this season., but they have lost 2 running backs to season ending surgeries. The First Baltimore RB to go down was 2020 2nd round pick out of Ohio State, J.K Dobbins... Dobbins suffered an ACL injury recently that will put him out for the season. Last season Dobbins entered the season as a rookie. He played as a rookie alongside some other really impressive RB rookies who were in the same draft, D'Andre Swift (Detroit Lions), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Kansas City Chiefs), Jonathan Taylor (Indianapolis Colts), Cam Akers (Las Angeles Rams), Zack Moss (Buffalo Bills). In his rookie campaign Dobbins, ran for 805 yards, 134 attempts, had 18 receptions, 9 touchdowns on the ground and receiving combined. He will be missed by the coaches and fan base this season. J.K Dobbins however wasn't the only RB to go down because of season ending surgery... It was announced today that Baltimore will also be without RB Justice Hill, who is victim of a Achilles Tear. Hill ran for 285 yards, 70 attempts, caught 13 passes and scored 2 touchdowns in 2 years with the Ravens.

5 Options for the Ravens for RB depth...
1.Le'Veon Bell...
Bell has played for 3 teams in his NFL career. Steelers, Jets, Chiefs... He was a Pro Bowler with the Steelers before joining the Jets, he didn't have half the success with New York that he had with Pittsburgh however. After leaving New York he then joined the Chiefs to provide depth and he hoped to win a superbowl that season. But, Kansas City fell way short to the Buccaneers in the Superbowl last February. Reportedly Bell has been working out with Baltimore and may be favored to land with the team. But giving Le'Veon Bell's history we won't know until ink touches paper.
2.Devonta Freeman...
Freeman also worked out for the Ravens today per report. Freeman has played 7 seasons in the NFL, 6 with the Atlanta Falcons and last season with the New York Giants. In that span he had two 1,000 yard seasons, back to back in 2015 and 2016. He ran for 4,144 yards, 1,005 attempts, 264 receptions and combined for 33 career touchdowns. He or Bell would be a big help with Gus Edwards in that backfield.
3.Adrian Peterson...
Peterson is without a doubt a future NFL Hall of Famer, no question about it. AP is 36 years old, he has played a whopping 15 years in the NFL!!!... He spent a decade with the Minnesota Vikings. In 2017 he played for the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals, after the Saints traded Peterson mid season to Arizona. He rushed for 531 yards that season. In 2018 he was signed by the now Washington Football Team, he played 2 seasons with the WFT and had his first 1,000 yard season in 3 years in his first season with Washington. Then in 2020 he signed with the Detroit Lions on a 1 year, 11 million dollar deal. He rushed for 604 yards, 7 TD's in a depth role with the Lions. He has gone unsigned this off-season and you gotta wonder if he will question retirement if not signed after week 1.
4.Todd Gurley ||...
Todd Gurley is only 26 years old!!!... You would think he would be signed by now?. But Gurley is still searching for a team. He played 5 seasons as a Ram. He bursted onto the scene as a top RB early on in his career after a 1,000 yard season in his rookie year in 2015. He had 2 more in LA before joining the falcons in 2020. But he isn't considered to be the Pro Bowler he once was. Gurley actually a native of Baltimore, Maryland which means he would be a perfect fit. Gurley worked out with the team earlier this season and it seems he has a chance of coming back home in a Ravens uniform.
5. Frank Gore...
Is the ageless wonder still looking to stay in the NFL as a player?. Frank Gore has had a long and interesting career. and it won't be long before Frank Gore JR is in the NFL!!!. Gore has played 16 seasons in his career. Like Peterson he played on the same team for a decade. He played from 2005-2015 with the San Francisco 49ers. He also played for the, Colts, Dolphins, Bills, Jets... He has EXACTLY 16,000 Yards rushing in his career!. If he does join Baltimore it would be his 6th NFL team.
