    Drew Lock Blew It

The Broncos have announced that Teddy Bridgewater is the starting quarterback for the Denver Broncos.

This hurts me because I am a true believer in Lock, I wrote an article a year ago about how I was super hype about him and the Broncos going into the 2020 season. Lock has all the arm strength in the world and plenty of weapons with Sutton, Jeudy, and Fant.

Bridgewater was traded from Carolina during the off-season after the Panthers decided to go with Sam Darnold. Both Drew and Teddy played well this preseason, and I have been on record saying I thought Lock would perform very well with the pressure of a guy like Bridgewater behind him.

Now I look at it and think maybe the pressure was too much, or maybe they just want to go with the more veteran quarterback. It makes sense when you think about the playstyles of the two.

Lock is a gunslinger who will take chances and try to give you a show. He has been a very entertaining guy to watch over the past two seasons. The problem is maybe he didn't perform that well last year and kind of turned the ball over a little too much.

Bridgewater is just a safe bet. He doesn't turn the ball over much at all and has shown success with all three teams he's been on. Carolina did lose a good amount of game last year but most of them by one possession. Teddy is a guy who does a lot of short pass and kill the clock kind of football. It works for this team because they are defensive minded in a division with explosive offenses.

Drew Lock had it though man, he had all the hype videos of him dancing on the sidelines and the story of being a little slept on in his draft class. I really thought he would have this in the bag, but Denver was rumored all offseason for Rodgers and Watson. Then they went and got Teddy and now Lock is back to the bench. CMON MAN!
