The Houston Texans finally wrapped up their season on Sunday in a game against the Titans where they were so close to coming away with the victory. The team finished the season 4-12 and will have nothing to show for it as they do not have a first round pick.
After the game was over J.J. Watt found quarterback Deshaun Watson walking off the field and proceeded to apologize for what has been a season to forget to say the least.
The apology was very warranted, the Texans had a historically bad defense this season, and in their final game of the season they gave up 41 points and 492 yards to Tennessee.
Deshaun on the other hand had one of the best seasons for a quarterback on this bad of a team. Watson led the NFL in passing yards to end the season, and is the highest rated quarterback to not make the playoffs according to Pro Football Focus.
Albeit this situation all started when Bill O'Brien was able to do things like trade away a first round pick for Laremy Tunsil. Maybe even when he traded away Deandre Hopkins and did not lose his job immediately. All that matters is Watson and the Texans are in a very tough situation.
Houston has no first round pick, no head coach, and no general manager. If J.J. wants to really be sorry he might want to consider loosening up that contract to help get some playmakers on the offense and defense. If not it could be a long time before Watson gets what Watt thinks he deserves.
