The Bears have made a crazy amount of moves when it comes to quarterback's this season. What does it mean for former superbowl champion Nick Foles?.

Veteran quarterback Nick Foles is slated to be the 3rd string QB with the Chicago Bears after a flurrie of moves this off-season. Foles is 32 so if a move is made for Foles it's not to make him a long term solution, but instead for him to either be a starter on a rebuilding team or to work behind a young QB. But Foles has big upside at 6' 6" and with his resume a team would surely be happy with him on the roster. Ideally for Foles he would be better off on almost any other team then Chicago. This off-season GM Ryan Pace and Head Coach Matt Nagy took a very agressive approach. It started with former 2nd overall pick QB Mitchell Trubisky walking out the door and welcoming in former Cincinnati Bengal, Dallas Cowboys QB Andy Dalton. And to follow that up they also traded the 20th overall pick and next season's 1st round pick to the New York Giants to draft Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields 11th overall. Afterwords... The Bears twitter account tweeted a photo of Andy Dalton with the caption "QB 1" indicating that Dalton will start week 1. Shortly after a press conference was held with Bears head coach Matt Nagy and in it he said... "Dalton is our guy... Fields is our number 2"... Which must make Foles #3. I wouldn't be making this article if I thought Foles was a 3rd string type of QB. But he could easily be a starter or atleast be #2.
It's been said twice now that Chicago is willing to trade Foles.

In 2012 he entered the League with the Eagles. His first stint with philly lasted from 2012-2014. Then he went onto join the LA Rams where he played one season and threw for 2,052 yards in 2015. In 2016 he joined the Kansas City Chiefs where he got limited play time. He threw for 410 yards. But then he got re-united with Philly in 2017 on a 2 yr contract. Little did Foles or Philly know was that the decision to reunite would provide the greatest milestone in franchise history. Because a year later as Carson Wentz back up Wentz went down for the season and Foles had to step up because Philly snuck into the playoffs. A playoff run lead by Foles and some magic would give them a match up between the dominate Patriots lead by the Greatest of all-time, Tom Brady. In the superbowl match up Foles gave Philly their fist ever Lombardi trophy after beating the best in the business. But even after all that the Eagles chose Wentz over Foles in 2019 and Foles latter joined the Jaguars. But Foles didn't last long with the Jaguars after suffering a nasty season ending injury. In last seasons free agency he signed with the Chicago Bears as mentioned. He lost a competition with Mitch Trubisky as starting QB for week 1. But after starting out 2-0 Trubisky was benched and Foles was called on for duty and he played well for the Bears throwing for 1,852 yards and had 10 passing touchdowns. He was a big factor in the Bears making the playoffs. But a few weeks later Nagy sent Trubisky back out there and when they did get to the playoffs they got destroyed by the New Orleans Saints. Maybe it would have been different if Foles was in the game giving his resume. Now that we got Foles backstory straight... let's dive into three possible landing spots for Nick Foles...

1 Houston Texans
The Texans are in a rocky relationship with Star QB Desaun Watson. It all started pretty much after friend and biggest offensive weapon WR DeAndre Hopkins was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. Since requesting be traded Watson has dealt with legal issues. So that means there still is a chance that Watson won't be traded. But if so the Texans have rookie QB Davis Mills and giving his back ground of injury's and the fact that he doesn't have much experience even at the college level, you would think that the Texans would want to bring in a vet or otherwise more talented QB and that's where Foles fits in perfectly.
2 New York Jets
The Jets found themselves as a laughing stock in 2020 as they nearly went 0-16 but miraculously they won 2 of the last 3 games. They put themselves in a position to take a young quarterback in the draft and that's what they did. Zach Wilson who has been Incredible this preseason was taken #2 overall. But he needs a solid back up and mentor and who better than Nick Foles.
3 Indianapolis Colts
The Colts believe they are contenders this season. Well they lost Phillip Rivers to retirement and gave up a 2nd round pick for QB Carson Wentz. Wentz as I mentioned earlier is very severely Injury prone and during camp required surgery on his ankle. Even though it looks like he will be back sooner than expected. Wentz is someone you always need to worry about and other than Sam Ehlinger who was a late round pick. Nobody is behind him to really aid that team if needed and how fitting would it be if Foles and Wentz get back together again.
Thanks for reading and have a great Day/night
